Commercial solar & battery / Mid North Coast · Northern Rivers
Commercial solar, sized on what your site actually uses.
We start with a two-week load study on your switchboard, not your roof area. You see the savings and payback before you decide anything.

What most quotes miss
Half your bill isn't the power you used.
On a commercial tariff a large share of what you pay is the demand charge, set by your single highest half-hour of the quarter. A system sized on roof area alone can cut your usage and barely touch it.
Ours is sized to cut both. At Mid Coast Trucks that meant pairing a 95 kW array with a 50 kWh battery to carry the afternoon peak. We design and install from 30 kW up to 1 MW: sheds, schools, factories, depots and council buildings.
Before we quote
Five things we work out first.
- Step 01
Your load, logged
A power logger sits on your switchboard for two weeks and records how the site actually uses power.
- Step 02
Self-consumption
How much of what the system makes you'd use on site. This is the number that decides the payback.
- Step 03
Peaks and demand
Where your highest half-hours sit, and whether solar alone moves them or a battery is needed.
- Step 04
Export limit
What the network will let you send back. We design inside it rather than hoping.
- Step 05
Roof and hours
Space, pitch, orientation and condition, plus your hours, weekends and shutdowns. We walk it.

Every commercial install
What the price covers.
- 01
Design from the load study
Expected generation, self-consumption, savings and payback, written up with the assumptions shown.
- 02
Installation by our own crew
The licensed electricians who quote the job install it. Grafton Library, 99.5 kW, took two weeks on site.
- 03
Grid connection and STCs
We lodge the network application, claim the Small-scale Technology Certificates and take them off the price.
- 04
Inspections at one and two years
Panels, mounting, cabling, isolators, switchboards, inverter and monitoring, with thermal imaging of the key connections.
- 05
Battery where it pays
We model whether storage improves the return. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, and we say which.
- 06
Warranties in writing
25 years on panels, 10 on inverters and batteries, and 10 years on our workmanship.

Finance
Often cash-flow positive from month one.
Many commercial systems finance with no capital outlay. When the monthly repayment sits under the monthly saving, the system pays for itself out of the bill it replaces, and the asset is yours at the end of the term. We show the outright and financed cases side by side.
Commercial solar questions
What business owners ask us.
How much will solar actually save my business?
It depends on how much power you use during the day, your electricity tariff, the system size and how much of the solar you can use on site. We review your bills and run the two-week load study so the savings figure is based on your real usage, not an average. You see the expected savings and payback before you proceed.
How long until it pays for itself?
In our experience most commercial systems pay back in three to five years. Businesses with high daytime consumption can see it faster. The Grafton Library job is estimated at just over two years because the site runs hard through the day and was replacing an old, underperforming system.
What size system does my business need?
Whatever the load study says. We design around your daytime demand, peak loads, operating hours, roof space and export limit. Bigger isn't the aim. The best return is, and it's often a smaller system than a roof-area quote would give you.
Does a commercial system need a lot of maintenance?
Less than most people expect. Commercial solar is low maintenance, but regular inspections keep it safe and performing. That's why the one-year and two-year inspections, with thermal imaging, are part of every commercial install we do.
How much of the solar will we actually use?
On most commercial sites we design for high self-consumption, because every kilowatt-hour used on site replaces one you'd buy from the grid. The design follows your load profile rather than your roof area.
Can we finance it?
Yes. We work with Brighte for finance. For many sites the monthly repayment sits under the monthly saving. Tell us if you'd rather see it as an outright purchase or financed and we'll show both.
What are the warranties?
Panels carry a 25-year manufacturer warranty. Inverters and batteries carry 10 years. Our workmanship warranty is 10 years.
